Math. Weirdly enough, this dreaded subject has great meaning to the two of us. Our story began in the classroom shown in this picture. This math class (Katelyn's Sophmore year, and Sam's Junior year) is where we began to wonder what more our, at the time, new friendship could grow to.

At this time, Covid was at an uproar. This, along with other factors, made getting time to get to know eachother a constant challenge. This lead to taking Katelyn's Golden Lab Bailey on frequent walks, throwing frisbee at our high schools football field, and trips to Cheaha as our first "dates". What can we say, we do love a good challenge.

To Katelyn's surprise, this random Wednesday, turned into one of the best days of her life. Our day started with Sam picking Katelyn up and us heading straight to a park near her house -- remember it was during the times of Covid, everything was closed. You know what they say, desperate times lead to desperate measres. We then picked up Chic-fil-A and headed to Chocolocco Park where Sam had prepared for us to have our dinner together at sunset. Sam was so nervous he did not even eat a bite. Finally, right as we began to get up to clean up, Sam sat us back down and asked Katelyn to be his girlfriend. Talk about butterflies!
